Program Description

Study Abroad Italy offers two academic study options (Program costs can be found here: Fall 2011 & Spring 2012)

1. Intensive Italian Language for 12 Credits: This intensive course meets Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM as well as on Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM. In addition, a cooking and language laboratory will be held in Week 2 or 3 on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Students enrolled in the twelve credit course will complete a 40 hour volunteer/community service project as a part of their course in the second half of the semester.

2. Intensive Italian Language for 9 Credits plus One Italian Studies course: This intensive course meets Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM as well as on Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Students may select their Italian Studies Course from the 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM time on Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, a cooking and language laboratory will be held in Week 2 or 3 on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Basic Program includes

Basic Program students may locate their own accommodations, or choose SAI apartment housing at an additional cost ($4000), however the Basic Program does not include SAI onsite student services. Basic Program students will have available the services provided by the host school itself, the cost for this service is 210 Euro paid directly to FUA. This program is for an independent student seeking to create their own experience, at a savings.
