Student Visas
United States and European Union citizens attending any UAL school for one academic term will not need a student visa. All non-EU and non-US citizens should check with their nearest British Embassy to determine if a visa is required, and the process for obtaining one. If needed, SAI will provide documents required for obtaining a student visa.
US citizens will not need a student visa if the criteria below has been met:
- Acceptance to a course of study that is no longer than 6 months
- Will not seek employment while in the UK
- Will leave the UK at the end of the academic term
- Will be financially responsible and self-sufficient
Please keep the following documents with your Passport and be prepared to show Immigration upon arrival:
- Acceptance Letter from UAL
- Enrollment Letter from SAI
- HTH Worldwide Insurance Letter
- Prepaid round trip ticket with departure date coinciding with the end of the term
- Current passport with validity that exceeds end of term by at least 4 months
- Current Bank Statement showing funds which you will be using while living in England. SAI recommends showing a bank statement with a balance of $1,000 per month you are in the UK. For example, a term of 3 1/2 months = balance of $3,500.
SAI will provide the necessary Letter of Acceptance from UAL, SAI Letter of Enrollment, and HTH Insurance Letter. These items will be mailed to you.
Non US citizens may be required to obtain a student visa. Please contact your local British Embassy for further information or go to their website at: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/. SAI will provide the Letter of Acceptance from UAL, SAI Letter of Enrollment, and HTH insurance letter, required for a student visa.
