This is my favorite picture I took during my time in Italy. It is a picture I took in Cinque Terre. My friends and I did a hike on top one of the mountains that separated two of the towns. We hiked for almost three hours up the mountain and along the beautiful coast. We were told before going on the trip that there was a surprise at the end of the hike. The surprise was an amazing view of the next town from on top of the mountain. This is one of the many pictures I took from that spot. I hope that you like my picture.
Ciao, Ryan Ingala |

I took this photo of Piazza del Popolo on one of the first days upon arriving in Italy. The glowing sun was shining on Rome, revealing the many golden opportunities that were awaiting me during my semester abroad. The rays gave me both a sense of tranquility and of anticipation of what else the Eternal City had to offer. |

Each Wednesday I walked from my apartment to Printmaking class crossing the Arno River. Every time I crossed the river I left the tourists behind and became an Italian, I became a local, an artist in the renaissance going to create something never before seen. The bridge represents an experience, the life changing experience that happens when you’re immersed in a new culture. |

Assissi, Italy was a last minute trip on my last weekend in Florence (or what I thought would be my last weekend!). I have visited most of the hill towns in Tuscany and really thought I had seen the most beautiful hill towns Italy had to offer. I was wrong. My friends and I decided to venture out to Perugia, hoping the rain would hold off.
I was intrigued by Assisi because of its vast history of St. Francis. The streets filled with people on pilgrimages and monks in full garb walking and laughing with each other. Assisi is the home of Catholicism and I was fortunate to visit St. Francis’s Church.
The mid December rain held off and made way for the most beautiful sunset I have seen in my entire life. The lowlands of Perugia were illuminated by the early evening glow and casted a cold shadow on the nooks and crannies of this historic slice of heaven. My friends and I watched the sun set behind St. Francis’s Church. |

This photo was taken on a trip to Sicily. One of the most beautiful and memorable towns I visited during that trip was the beach town of Cefalù. This photo captures a certain timeless quality, as if it was taken from an era decades ago. The colors of the sky and sea leave me longing to return to such a serene and stunning setting. |

This is a picture I took of Anna Wintour at one of the FW2010 shows in Milan last January.
I am so happy to have gone to DA becuase I got to see so many things that I would have never of gotten a chance to see before. The Master in Fashion Management was an amazing experience and I hope that other students from America can share the same experiences that I has while abroad! |
