CELL PHONES

For safety and communication ease between students and SAI staff, SAI provides all students rental cell phones, with no monthly charge, for the duration of their stay in Italy. This arrangement is made through our partner provider, Student Cells. No charges are incurred for incoming calls and text messaging received while in Italy. If a student chooses to use their cell phone to make outgoing calls and/or text messages, applicable charges will be billed to the credit card submitted when picking up the cell phone.

OPTIONAL BLACKBERRY RENTAL/UPGRADE

Students wishing to upgrade their Nokia phone to a Blackberry, have the following 2 options:

  • A student may bring his/her own BlackBerry. Students will need to rent a SIM card for a monthly fee of 19 Euros.
  • Students may choose to rent a BlackBerry from Student Cells for a monthly fee of 29 Euros + a deposit of 280 Euros.
The 19 euro rental fee allows students access to an unlimited data plan while in Italy.

Please Note: Using the BlackBerry outside of Italy (in Europe) will result in significant extra charges.
