Tell us why you chose to study abroad.
I chose to study abroad because I want to expand my knowledge and be able to creatively and critically think about the apparel world.
Tell us about your school, major, interests, clubs (you in a nutshell).
I attend Washington State University which is located in Pullman, Washington. I am majoring in Apparel Merchandising and minoring in Communication studies. While in school I work as a graphics editor for the university’s yearbook. I am apart of the apparel merchandising club at my school. When I am home from school I work in Seattle, Washington for Anthropologie clothing company. I am very intrigued by the fashion industry. I have always thought of apparel as wearable moving art. I am a very visual oriented person. With that said in my spare time I attend various art galleries, gaining inspiration on a daily basis.
What are you most excited about re. studying abroad?
I am most excited about being in a metropolitan city. I feel as though London is such a beautiful place and I cannot wait to fully appreciate and embrace one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world.
What are you most nervous about re. studying abroad?
I think what I am most nervous about is the initial first week. I just hope I can get around the city and find my classes alright.
What are three goals that you would like to achieve/accomplish while abroad?
I hope to learn more in depth about the fashion industry especially in a competitive setting such as London, along with understanding the business side of product development. I want to leave the program having learned new skills in fashion advertising. Ultimately, I am striving to gain an enriched learning adventure immersed in a cultural learning experience at the same time.
