The NABA Communication Design program synthesizes the economic and creative dimensions of the design field, and applies them to the use of new technologies. It is a path designed to help students develop a solid background in the field of marketing and integrated communications, while gaining a rich variety of expressive skills through the use of real design production tools.

Program Introduction
Students gain a solid background in integrated marketing communications, a field that combines traditional forms of marketing with new digital communications technologies. Students improve their proficiency in analog graphic design, as well as the latest computer graphics programs. Participants also have the chance to cultivate their skills in a rich variety of design production tools, including photography, Web design, digital video, and integrated new media. Alongside this expressive work, students will examine the fundamentals of brand design, advertising, and journalistic writing to broaden their knowledge of the business side of the profession.
In project work with companies, students practice the strategies required to independently undertake all phases of complex communication projects, including art direction, project management, design, execution, and presentation.

Learning Outcomes and Career Opportunities
The program provides students with the tools they need to consciously and independently undertake all phases of complex communication projects, while alerting them to the implications of their work.
Students can employ the theoretical and technical knowledge gained during the program in a wide variety of communication contexts, especially those characterized by complex design problems. Graduates of this program may find employment as:
Degree & Certification
Students enrolled in the Master of Art – Product Design that complete the full program, will receive a Master of Arts Degree awarded by NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education.
Declaration of Value
In order to receive the Academic Master Degree at the completion of the program students holding a non-Italian Bachelor Degree are required to have their degree validated prior to starting the program. In order to do so, students must contact the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where the degree was issued in order to ask for the so called “perfezionamento documenti”, consisting of:

Pre-departure and Re-entry services
Housing is not included in SAI Select Services Programs. However, your SAI Admissions Counselor will be happy to provide you with information and recommendations for local housing agencies, as well as school-provided apartments. Students who do not have prior housing arrangements should begin speaking with their Admissions Counselor as soon as possible.
Passports
Passports should be valid for 3 months after planned departure from Italy.
Student Visas
In accordance with Italian law students studying in Italy for 91 days or more are required to obtain a student visa. Those with Italian/EU citizenship are exempted. Non-US nationals should consult their local Consulate for information on student visa requirements.
Students must appear in person at the Italian Consulate to present their student visa application. Our Student Visa Office is available to assist students in getting ready for the appointment; SAI provides student visa consulting for all our students at no cost.
