The Visual Design and Integrated Marketing Communication program at NABA provides a synthesis between the marketing approach and the artistic/expressive approach to communications. The program helps students develop a wide range of technical and design production skills, with a special focus on the implementation of new technologies. By working on real briefs, students put their acquired skills into practice to undertake all phases of complex communication projects.

During the course of the program, students will have the opportunity to decode the elements and languages of communication as well as their contemporary cultural and imaginary context. They will assess different languages of communication and identify the impact of the communication processes on today’s socio-economic and cultural context. Furthermore, students will learn to manage complex communication projects, finding the right balance between the economic and the artistic-creative dimension. The NABA Visual Design & Integrated Marketing Communication program allows students to deepen their knowledge and skills through specialized and advanced studies and to acquire the instruments necessary to develop complex communication outputs, through a practical workshop approach.
Constantly engaged in real projects and analyzing the fundamental elements of marketing, integrated communication, and contemporary cultural scenarios, students will confront the professional context, experiencing new creative and operational models which will support them in the development of a sound professional and project profile.
Introduces students to the visual communication project methodology in the field of graphic and branding and provide the basic knowledge of project management, from the economic-financial aspects to marketing, from research to briefing, through advanced studies in project methodology, art direction, phenomenology of contemporary arts.
Through workshop experiences and theoretical lectures, students have the opportunity to deal with integrated marketing communication projects, to acquire a sound understanding and ability to execute a communication briefing and to develop effective solutions for complex projects.
Students deepen the project dimension with an application approach by implementing communication projects assigned by partner companies in the field of advanced studies of visual communication, art direction and editorial systems for art. Furthermore, a focus on design management addresses the issues of entrepreneurship, business modeling, start-up.
A series of cross-disciplinary workshops, several project experiences, and the participation in international contests enable students to gain aware project methodology, knowledge and skills suitable for professional career.
Declaration of Value
In order to receive the Academic Master Degree at the completion of the program students holding a non-Italian Bachelor Degree are required to have their degree validated prior to starting the program. In order to do so, students must contact the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where the degree was issued in order to ask for the so called “perfezionamento documenti”, consisting of:

Housing is not included in SAI Select Services Programs. However, your SAI Admissions Counselor will be happy to provide you with information and recommendations for local housing agencies, as well as school-provided apartments. Students who do not have prior housing arrangements should begin speaking with their Admissions Counselor as soon as possible.
Passports should be valid for 3 months after planned departure from Italy.
In accordance with Italian law students studying in Italy for 91 days or more are required to obtain a student visa. Those with Italian/EU citizenship are exempted. Non-US nationals should consult their local Consulate for information on student visa requirements.
Students must appear in person at the Italian Consulate to present their student visa application. Our Student Visa Office is available to assist students in getting ready for the appointment; SAI provides student visa consulting for all our students at no cost.
