Halfway Point
Jennifer, Florence, Spring 2013

I have officially reached the half way point of my study abroad program and I am beyond pleased with my experience thus far. Florence has truly grown to be my home. I walk around the city streets as if I have grown up here my entire life. The month of March has brought a lot of rain, but the city still continues to look absolutely stunning. Walking around in the rain underneath my umbrella has become one of my favorite things to do actually. I find it peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing.

My roommates have become my best friends, and that is one thing I am most grateful for. Deciding to come abroad on my own, not knowing a soul, was by far the smartest decision I have made regarding this experience. It allows you to not only meet new people but also find yourself and your independence!

At the end of February, beginning of March I traveled to Prague to visit one of my best friends who is studying there this semester. It was AMAZING. I recommend it to everyone. The city is like a fairytale land and resembles Disneyland in so many different ways. It has truly been one of the most inspiring cities to visit and I so wish I could go back.
My parents came to visit me this last week and we went on a day your of Pisa, a winery, and Siena! I was completely blown away by Siena. It was the last stop for the day and everyone was getting pretty tired. The little quaint city took us by surprise and was my favorite part of the tour.
My last two months here have gone by FAR too quickly let me tell you, but I have loved and enjoyed every day. I can’t wait to see what the last month and a half brings!
