Program Overview

At Cattolica, students from around the world will experience a contemporary education in the heart of the dynamic, vibrant and stylish city of Milan. SAI’s 4 week summer programs allow students to enroll in two back-to-back 2 week courses for a total of 6 US credits. Courses are taught in English and offered in a variety of fields including Business, Media and Communications, and Italian Culture. SAI offers two Summer 4 week sessions at UCSC, each with different dates and course options: Summer I and Summer II.

Academics

UCSC offers a variety of courses designed to offer a rich and well-rounded education, blending classroom learning with hands-on experiences. Courses are held Monday through Friday. Students enrolled in the 4 week program select two back-to-back 2 week intensive courses: one course for section 2 (course held during the first two weeks of the program), and one course for section 3 (course held during the last two weeks of the program).

Note: This program consists of back-to-back courses; students enrolling in this program must complete the full program length.

SAI student apartments offer a comfortable, community-focused living experience in fully equipped spaces. Apartments typically house 2 – 4 students and feature a mix of shared-occupancy and private bedrooms, along with kitchen, bathroom, and a common area. Each unit is move-in ready with essential furnishings, a washing machine, basic kitchen supplies, bed linens, towels, and wireless internet. Housing is arranged as female, male, and, in select locations, gender-inclusive. SAI’s on-site staff are available to promptly assist with any maintenance needs throughout the program.

Academics

Course Registration

Shortly after confirming their attendance in the program, students will receive login credentials for the Cattolica student portal system: iCatt. Students will select their courses directly through iCatt and will receive their final class schedules during the onsite academic orientation. SAI will provide detailed instructions for course registration at the appropriate time.

SAI Viva Experience

SAI offers all students the Viva Experience: frequent cultural activities, at no extra cost, for participants to get to know their community, city and country. Following is a sample of the activities included in this program. Please note that actual activities may differ.

Passport & Visa

Passports
Passports should be valid for at least 3 months after planned departure from Europe.

Student Visas
In accordance with Italian law, U.S. students studying in Italy for 90 days or less are not required to obtain a student visa. Therefore all U.S. students do not require a student visa for this program (nor can they apply for one). Non-US nationals should consult their local Consulate for information on student visa requirements.
