Academics & Certificates

Course Registration

SAI students preselect their courses as part of the enrollment process, but final class registration is completed once they arrive in Paris. French Language placement tests will also be administered, as required, on site. For courses with prerequisites (indicated in the course description), students must be prepared to show that they meet the requirements.

Administrative Add/Drop Week
During the first week of classes, students will have the opportunity to request changes to their schedule. The following week, there will be a pause in classes as the PSB administration effectuates approved schedule changes. While there will be no classes held during this week, students are strongly advised to remain in Paris and take advantage of the supplementary activities offered. This pause is an excellent opportunity for students to orient themselves and to get to know the city. Students will then re-commence classes during the third week of the term.

Optional Certificates

SAI Global Leadership Certificate (GLC)
The SAI Global Leadership Certificate (GLC) enhances a semester abroad through focused exploration of global issues, research, and engagement with local experts. Students develop critical thinking and leadership skills while gaining a deeper understanding of their host community. This credential highlights academic initiative and a global perspective.

SAI International Service Certificate (ISC)
The SAI International Service Certificate (ISC) offers students the opportunity to engage directly with their host community through volunteer service. Working with local organizations and supported by SAI staff, students build practical skills, cultural awareness, and meaningful connections. This certificate recognizes a strong commitment to service abroad.
