Program Overview
The career certificate program in Hospitality Management (Year 1) offers a general overview of the hospitality industry and related services sectors applicable to one of four specializations in Year 2:

The Year 1 program includes a block set of courses that provide a structured learning experience and introduction to the field, with a focus on experiential learning and hands-on projects.

Program Objectives
This program will provide the student with a solid foundation to build and grow a diverse skill set in the field of hospitality management, through a common core of introductory courses in event management, front of house management, human resources, hospitality marketing, client-customer relations, and basic accounting, with specific beginner courses on spa, real-estate, and restaurant management.

The program focuses on community engagement and experiential learning with four of the school’s CEMI (Community Engagement Member Institutions), unique organizations run by the school and open to the public and university. Students will gain hands-on experience in the Dimora FUA guest apartments, Fedora pastry shop, Ganzo restaurant, and Sorgiva spa, all which will support the program’s curriculum and promote student skills development by allowing practice in real-life situations and public-facing organizations.
