Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) was founded in 1980 and is the only design school in Italy accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. NABA instructors are world-renowned artists, professionals, and designers working in Milan. NABA’s teaching method stresses cultural, theoretical, and practical aspects of design and seeks to put students in constant contact with companies and professionals.

NABA subscribes to the philosophy that creativity is best cultivated in an international atmosphere, and welcomes students from around 60 different countries. The school is located in the Navigli area of Milan, and uses 12 buildings to provide exceptional equipment and studio space for its 2,000 students. NABA is among the member institutions of the European League of Institutes of the Arts and the International Council of Fine Arts Deans, which consists of members from over 800 international art and design universities.

Student Life at NABA

With a total student population over 6,000 from more than 100 countries, NABA was the first private Academy in Italy to be recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education. NABA’s Student Life Office organizes a variety of extra-curricular activities to help students connect with each other and to integrate with the local culture. Activities include social gatherings, guided tours, field trips, recreational classes, volunteering opportunities and sports, such as football, volleyball, basketball and table tennis.
