Florence is one of the oldest and most incredible cities in Italy and every street is filled with history and beauty. Whether it’s a hike up out of the valley of Florence, a view from the most important cathedral in Florence, or a view from your local palace, Florence has the most incredible places to take in the beauty of the city. Some of my favorite spots on this list are from the most iconic places in Florence and others are some hidden gems from the city.

View from San Miniato al Monte

1) San Miniato al Monte
While the climb up to Piazza Michelangelo is one of the most famous and beautiful in the city, if you continue your hike just a little higher you will see one of the most amazing gems of Florence. Not only will you see a stunning Romanesque church, but an incredible view of the city of Florence.

View from Boboli Gardens

2) Boboli Gardens
Located at the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens are 111 acres of some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Florence. It costs €6 eur to enter the gardens alone and €16 for both the palace Every step you take takes you back to the iconic Medici era as you follow the footsteps of the family through the winding paths. Even on a cloudy day, the Boboli gardens are incredibly breathtaking.

View from Ponte Santa Trinita during historic high water levels

3) Ponte Santa Trinita
Ponte Vecchio might be the most famous bridge in Florence, but Ponte Santa Trinita gives you the best view of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River. This bridge also leads to the stunning street Via de’ Tornabuoni which has the best Christmas lights in Florence. It is my personal favorite view of the Arno because it isn’t too crowded and you can see the iconic Ponte Vecchio perfectly from it.

4) Rinascente- Rooftop Restaurant
In the heart of Florence is the Rinascente department store. It has 6 floors of clothing, perfumes, and accessories from luxury brands. The top of the department store has a bar and restaurant with a stunning view of Florence. From the center of Florence, you can see some of the most iconic buildings along with a great drink or plate of pasta.

View from The Duomo

5) Santa Maria Fiore- View from the Top the Duomo
The Duomo is view unarguably the most iconic building in Florence. The Duomo stands proud in the center of Florence which can be seen from anywhere. The exhausting walk up the narrow stairs is definitely worth the incredible view from the highest point in Florence. The top of the Duomo represents not only the beauty of the city but also the historical and artistic significance as one of the leaders of the Renaissance. It is a once in a lifetime experience and an absolute must for anyone visiting this incredible city.
