A Day in the Life of SAI Florence
Caroline, Florence, Spring 2018
April 26, 2018

We handed over our Instagram account to Caroline for the day. This is her day in Florence!

Ciao! My name is Caroline, I am from Florida, I am a photography major at The University of Central Florida, studying at FUA in Florence, Italy this spring semester! I’ll be taking over the handle today to show you what a typical day is like for me in Florence! This morning we are starting the day off right with the sun shining down on the fruit market in my Piazza! Can’t wait to take you along for a day in Firenze!

Studying for midterms is making me miss this #throwback to when my roommate and I bought some beautiful flowers from @la_menagere and had a caffè latte from our favorite cafe @donnino_firenze ☕💐

Grabbed lunch at a favorite spot, Fo’ Caccia La Notte. There is nothing quite as comforting after a photojournalism midterm than a number 8 and a Coca-Cola!

Everyday coming home from class I get to pass the Santa Croce and I often try to find different ways to photograph the building and surrounding area, today I decided to do a framing shot through a lion statue at the foot of the Dante statue that is in front of the church! Finding new perspectives is one of my favorite things about being a photographer.

The past couple of weeks it has been raining on and off just about everyday, but, today was an amazing day full of sunshine and beautiful shadows hitting the buildings at all the best angles (a photographers dream🙌🏻) I am so happy to be studying art in a city as special as Florence, it is truly inspiring and the experience of a lifetime! I hope you all enjoyed following me around for a day full of yummy snacks – Italys best souvenir in my opinion!! and beautiful scenery! Ciao! Ciao! 🇮🇹

Caroline is a SAI Florence spring 2018 student from the University of Central Florida.
